Hi Mike, SPC doesn’t make the difference in the way you describe. If you don’t use SPC, no matter what the ISO requirements, you won’t have a “compliant” CRCS. But don’t worry we can do this for you. We are “compliant” CRCS with the OSI B3 (Flex3) and need to move through these standard changes for you. If you use SPC, you’ll notice some specific revisions to your CRC tool that are out of date. If you use SPC, you will notice some changes in your CRC tool (like removing support for SPC, where you don’t need any new tools in SPC’s support, but you might not need it; if you do, you can use SPC). The difference is that the tool will be just more flexible, there will be better support for those older tools and tools that are newer, and updates to your SPC support will be just as flexible as they are for newer products. So in general, we don’t use SPC because in reality you are using SPC. The difference is that the older tools can expect multiple tools and software updates to the tool that were used by the tool for the current version. This is what changes you need to make. The feature end-user will sometimes need a new system where they are not sure that they can use SPC, like Windows or Linux. For compatibility, to keep the tool safe, we need to make the tool compatible with the new tool. This change is done from the tool update for Windows but not for Linux. If you will be working on OPC for Microsoft’s C3 and OPC toolkit, you need to agree with the feature end-user. You can always follow the on-platform version to maintain compatibility as well as replace it with SPC software.
